Examination Assessment Pattern

The examinations and Assessments aim at evaluating the capabilities of the student through valid and reliable tools. The school adheres to the CBSE guidelines for assessment and the student is continuously and comprehensively evaluated on all accounts.

Class I – V (Primary School)
There are four cycles of Unit Tests conducted in an academic year.

Unit Test I July
Unit Test II September
Unit Test - III December
Unit test - IV March

The school follows a well defined 5 point grading scale in accordance with the CBSE guidelines.

Class VI – VIII (Middle School)

The academic session is divided into two terms.

Term I - April to September
Term II - October to March
• Each term as two Formative Assessment and one Summative Assessment Examination at the term end.
• There are two Unit Tests i.e. UT – I (July) and UT – II (December) in an academic session.
• A well defined, as per CBSE guidelines, a point grading scale is adopted.

Assessment of Co – Scholastic Areas

The Student’s performance is also evaluated through out the year in co – scholastic areas as –

1. Life skills
2. Work Education
3. Visual and Performing Arts
4. Attitude and Values
5. Literary and Creative skills
6. Scientific Skills
7. Health and Physical Education.

A 5 point grading scale is adopted for assessing the students in co – scholastic areas.

Class IX – X (Senior School)

The assessment pattern is based on the guidelines issued by CBSE.

• There are two terms in an academic session :
   TERM I – April to September
   TERM II – October to March
• Each term as two Formative Assessments and one Summative Assessment examinations.
• There are two Unit Tests i.e. UT – I (July) and UT – II (December) in an academic year.
• A 9 point grading scale as prescribed by CBSE is as followed.

Assessment of Co – Scholastic Areas –

1. Life skills
2. Work Education
3. Visual and Performing Arts.
4. Attitude and Values.

Assessment in Co – Scholastic Activities -

1. a) Literary and creative skills
b) Scientific Skills
2. Health and Physical Activities
A 5 point grading scale is followed for assessing the student in co – scholastic areas

Class XI – XII (Senior School)

The academic session is divided into two terms.

Class XI

The students are evaluated through examinations held as –
UT – I Exams – August.
Half Yearly Exams – September
Unit Test – II Exams – December
Annual Exams – February
The evaluation pattern as given by CBSE is followed.

Class XII

The following examinations are conducted for the students in the academic session:
Unit Test – I Exams - July
Half Yearly Exams - September
Unit Test – II Exams - December

PRE BOARDS – January

ANNUAL EXAMS – As per CBSE Date Sheet
A 9 point grading scale is adopted for assessment.
