English Literary Week

School organized the English Literary Week from 19 November to 23 November,2012. An added thrust was laid on the four basic skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking of language. A plethora of activities was organized for all the students of the school i.e. classes Pre-Primary to XII. Day 1: 19 November 2012 Week, brimming with English activities, started with English poem recitation competition for the tiny tots of PP-II and young ones of III-V. Children of classes VI-VIII had an aural treat at the assembly watching Character Dramatization where as, a challenging crossword puzzle was administered to classes IX-XII. Day 2: 20 November 2012 Special assemblies were presented applauding the winners of English poetry recitation competition of classes PP-I and children of II-V showcased the excellent acting talent in the English skit HONESTY. Presenting CONTRADICTIONS, students of classes VI-VIII expressed marvelously in the Inter House English debate competition. An English quiz was conducted in classes IX to XII. An Inter-House Rangoli competition was organized by Aadharshila Vidyapeeth, Pitam pura on 8 Nov. 2012 for classes VI-VIII to usher the Diwali Spirit. Students participated in this activity enthusiastically and showed their creativity using variety of flower petals in their motifs. Upasana House was declared 1st, Shraddha House was declared 2nd and Tapasya House was declared 3rd by the esteemed judges.

Gandhi jayanti

A special assembly was held to commemorate Gandhi Jayanti at School. Mahatma’s great service to our nation was gratefully remembered. Thought provoking speeches on ‘Gandhiji’ were delivered by students and teachers. Inspiring incidents that happened in Gandhiji’s life were beautifully narrated in the assembly. Mrs. Nidhi, a social studies teacher of the school, expressed in her speech that non-violence, honesty, discipline and simplicity are some of the virtues that Mahatma followed all through his life. While concluding her speech, she said that Gandhiji’s principles are very much relevant to present days and every Indian should follow the path shown by Gandhiji to make our country peaceful.

Animal Day Celeberation

Students of Pimary classes of Aadharshila Vidyapeeth celebrated - Animal Day in a special assembly conducted on 4 october 2012. The school choir presented a beautiful song praising the importance of animals in the society. An informative speech on extinct and endangered species was delivered. Ms Yukti, in her special address to the audience, pointed out that man- animal association began in the early civilization period. She stressed that animals play a major role in the environment. While enjoying benefits from animals, man should also protect them as each depend upon the other. Students understood that it is important to conserve environment & save animals.

Annual Day Celebrations

Aadharshila Vidyapeeth, Pitam Pura presented a series of ‘ANNUAL SHOWS’- the extravagant cultural programmes in the month of October, 2012. The spectrum of festivity includes: • ANUGOONJ: Annual Day for classes Pre-Primary and I on 12 October, 2012. Presentations that glimmered the most were Ganpati Aradhna, Hindi Choir, Ditty Doves- enactment on rhymes, Hindi Skit-Mighty Hanuman, Countryside Utopia and dance performance-‘Colourful Spirit of India’. Chief Guest, Mrs. Meera Aggarwal, Mayor NDMC, appreciated the efforts of the school. • PRATIBIMB: Annual Day on 13 October, 2012 for classes I & II. Dr. Annapurna Mishra, Mayor EDMC, presided over the function as Chief Guest. Cultural programmes, Ganpati Vandan, Birds of Paradise, Birbal’s Witty Tales, Integrated Steps and Boogie Fever, entertained the audience thoroughly. • UTSAV: Annual Day on 18 October, 2012 for classes III-V. Guest of the evening Sh. Ravinder Nath Bansal, MLA Shalimar Bagh and Dr. Asha Kiran Bawa, Former Joint Secretary UGC, graced the function. Presentations-Incarnation of Shkati, Group Song, Hindi Pay-‘Haku Ji’, English Skit-‘Pied Piper’, ‘Nitrayanjali’, ‘Bhartiyam’ and tribal dance-‘Rumble in the Jungle’, mesmerized the audience. • THE EIGHTH NOTE: Annual Day on 19 October, 2012 for classes VI-XI. Show began with Invocation Dance followed by ‘The Eighth Note’- a sensitive ensemble of outstanding talent and co-ordination, and the Group Song. Chief Guest Sh. Shakti Sinha, Chairman cum Managing Director of DSIIDC, Ministry of Commerce, applauded the efforts of the school. The Grand Annual Celebrations were graced by the presence of Mrs. Preeti Goel, Director of the School.

Diwali Celebration

Dedicated to promote a green and cracker free Diwali, Aadharshila Vidyapeeth, Pitam Pura celebrated Diwali with pomp and show. A week long celebration from 5th to 9th November ignited festivity in every nook and corner of the school. Special assemblies promoting the idea ‘Say-‘No’ to crackers’ for the students of classes VI-XII and II-V were organized on 5th and 6th November respectively. Vivid patterns of ‘Rangoli’ ornamented the school in the Inter-House Rangoli Competition for classes VI-XII on 9th November 2012. A massive special assembly, paying obeisance to Lord Ganesh on 9th November 2012 witnessed a huge and pious participation by all the students of classes II-XII. Diyas and candles decorated the whole school with hope and brightness.


As the name “Mèlange” unfolded itself, Aadharshila Vidyapeeth, Pitam Pura witnessed a confluence of immense talent in all the realms in “Mèlange 2012-13”, the Inter-School Fest organized by the School with profound zeal and exultation on 21 and 22 December 2012 in the school premises. The Fest consisted of events like “Amalgam” (Fusion Dance), “Crossroads” (Radio Jockey Show), “Gulgule” (Hasya Kavita), “Craft Calling” (Best Out of Waste), “Brain Brawl” (Maths Quiz), “Smart Gen Jr.” (Macromedia Flash), “Singathon” (Singing with Bands),”Contra-Dictions” (English Debate), “Naya Daur” (Nukkad Natak), “Mosaic” (Collage Making), “Q-Genie” (Science Quiz) and “Smart Gen Sr.” (Adobe Photoshop). Spread over two days around 500 students from renowned schools of North West Delhi showcased unbound literary, cultural, logical and musical talent in Aadharshila Annual Fest. Winners were felicitated by the School Principal. Aadharshila’s staff, participants and dedicated students volunteers left no stone unturned to make the Fest successful.

Open Painting Competition

On the occasion of the revered leader Sh. Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji’s birthday, Aadharshila Vidyapeeth, Pitampura organized the Annual Open Painting Competition-2012 in the school premises for students of classes II to X. The school was resplendent with the Christmas buntings, yuletide spirit and birthday greetings. Children from various schools across North-West Delhi braved the cold and participated enthusiastically. Their spirit was infectious. Along with the position holders, there were lots of consolation prizes to encourage the budding artists. Santa Claus distributed sweets among the young ones spreading joy and cheer of the season. The spirited teachers of Aadharshila Vidyapeeth made every effort to make the event successful.

S.S.T. Days Celebrated

Aadharshila Vidyapeeth, Pitampura celebrated Social studies days from 27 to 29 December,2012. In an effort to illustrate this magnanimous subject ,social studies exhibition-“Jambudweep to India” was organized on 27 Dec that witnessed a huge participation of students and audience. India and its vivid historical, physical, social, environmental and global features were the thrust of the exhibition. Special assembly highlighting-“All religion are same” was organized on 28.12.12. Inter House Social Studies quiz for classes VI-VIII proved to be a brain storming session for all the participants on the same day. Week culminated with Inter House Speech competition on 29.12.12 for classes IX-X, focusing on FDI, democracy and diplomatic policies.

Fare Thee Well

Aadharshila Vidyapeeth bid adieu to its outgoing batch of class XII (2012-13) in a grandiloquent farewell organized in the school auditorium on 22 January 2013. Welcomed in a traditional way, the outgoing batch students were felicitated with titles & mementoes. A cultural show hosted & presented by class XI students proved to be a confluence of co-ordination and talent. In his address the school Principal, motivated students to work hard and come up to the parent’s expectations. Some of the highlights of the show were Hindi and English Choir, Comedy Act- “A day at Aadharshila”, “One Minute Games”, Dance Medley and comedy “Kirtan”. The divas & hunks of class XII set the stage ablaze with their stylish “Rampwalk”. Tie breaker for Mr. Aadharshila award followed by presentation of Ms. Aadharshila , Aadharshila New Gem,Best Dressed and on time arrival awards where the moments of surprise and elation for XII class students who presented their gratitude for school in the form of speech and messages. All the students of class XI & XII feasted upon the lunch arranged by the school and parted cherishing their school life.

On Pious Note

Seeking the Almighty’s blessings before final examinations for the session 2012-13, Aadharshila Vidyapeeth, Pitampura organized ‘Hawan Ceremonies’ on 28 and 29 January, respectively. Holy offerings in the Hawan fire and chanting of mantras and bhajans drenched all in a spiritual bliss. Massive special assemblies on both the days ignited a spirit of dedicated learning in students. Holy water was sprinkled and ‘Prasad’ was distributed amongst students & staff.

Group Dance Fest

Aadharshila Vidyapeeth Pitampura organized the Inter-House Group Dance Competition on 30 January, 2013 in the school auditorium for the students of classes III-V. More than 80 students from six different ‘Houses’ of the school participated in the competition. Showcasing unmatched synchronization and flexibility, children beautifully presented the theme ‘Indian Dances’ with a plethora of costumes of different states viz Rajasthan, Haryana, Himachal and Punjab. Excelling in expressions, co-ordination, steps, track, costumes and props, ‘Tapasya House’ won the competition with flying colours. Giving a close competition, ‘Sankalp House’ and ‘Upasna House’ bagged second and third positions respectively.

Republic Day Celebration

Celebrating the spirit of Republic,Aadharshila Vidyapeeth, Pitampura commemorated the 64th Republic Day in the School premises on 24 January, 2013 with the hoisting of the National flag. Presenting a marvelous show in the school auditorium, the tiny tots of classes II-V recited Hindi Poems with patriotic fervor, gave a beautiful dance performance on- “Vande Matram”, enacted a Hindi skit-“Bhagat Singh” and presented their thoughts about the Indian Republic. Senior section of the school i.e. classes VI-XI also presented a spirited cultural show including Hindi Group song, Group dance and eloquent speeches. The synchronized “March Past” by the students of six different HOUSES of the school was a sight to behold! Aadharshila Vidyapeeth salutes the Indian Republic.

Aadharshila Shines

Visit to Aeroplanet

Aadharshila Vidyapeeth, Pitampura organized a picnic to “Aeroplanet” Dwarka, on 12, 13 and 15 February 2013 for the students of classes III, IV , V and II respectively. Aeroplanet- the world of aeroplanes, fascinated children immensely. Mock drills such as acquiring boarding passes, boarding an aeroplane, emergency landing through slides in case of fire were eye-opening for the students. Amusements like magic show, jumping castles, rope-climbing, balancing bar, walking on the balloons, chair trolley and DJ songs were greeted with gales of laughter from the students. Children also relished the lunch served there and enjoyed the memorable learning experience.

Days of Newsmakers

The perseverance and sheer hard work of students bore fruits as Aadharshila Vidyapeeth, Pitampura recognized and honoured students of classes VI-X on 27 February, 2013 for their excellent performance in Summative Assessment-I in the session 2012-13. The special school assembly bursted with gales of applause and encouragement. School principal congratulated the achievers who put into commendable diligence and inspired all to hone and latch on with sincere efforts. The day also witnessed declaration of “Best house for the session 2012-13”. On the basis of accumulated points for all Inter House Competitions through out the session, the honourary and gilded rolling trophy fell in the hands of “VISHWAS HOUSE” students and teachers. This trophy is awarded to the house, showcasing devotion and doggedness in all respects and stands testimony for umpteenth co-ordination and fidelity.

Young Hands with flowrs

Igniting the aesthetics of students, Aadharshila Vidyapeeth, Pitampura organised Inter House Flower arrangement Competition for classes VI-X on 13 February 2013. Participating with enthusiasm and brilliance ,children of all the six houses of the school used flowers of radiant hues. The six shapely, exquisite and gorgeous flower arrangements were master pieces of creativity and adornment. The embellishment of Shraddha, Vishwas and Samarpan house bagged I, II and III position respectively. Spring is about to come!

Picnic to Pratapgarh Farms

Providing students with rejuvenation & joie de vivre, Aadharshila Vidyapeeth, Pitampura organized picnic to ‘Pratapgarh Farms’ on Saturday, 2 February, 2013. Excited with elation, more than 300 students of classes VI-X spent quality time basking at the lawns of the farms. Some of the highlights that students cherished most were camel riding, cart riding, mud bath, tube well bath, trampoline table tennis, cricket, volleyball, pottery and bridge crossing. Children feasted upon the welcome breakfast and traditional lunch served at the Farms. What a day of jocularity, ecstasy and rendezvous with Indian culture and tradition it was!

The Aadharshila Sports Meet

Aadharhsila Vidyapeeth, Pitampura organized a spectacular Sports meet for classes VI-X on 12 February 2013 in the school premises. The meet was organized in keeping with the belief upheld by the school that apart from academics, sports activities too play a vital role in the development of a child’s personality. More than 180 children participated with great zeal and enthusiasm and put up a magnificent show. The meet commenced in the benign presence of the School Principal. The event was interspersed with fun races-100m race, sack race, long jump, hurdle race, ball throw and hurdle jump- in boys and girls categories. The children seemed to be having a blast while participating in these races. The enthusiasm of the audience was palpable.The winners received medals and certificates.

On Field Fitness

Taking cognizance of the importance of fitness and discipline in a child’s life, Aadharshila Vidyapeeth, Pitam Pura organized exciting “Annual Sports Days” for cases II on 18 February 2013 and classes III-V on 21 February 2013. The days triggered off with releasing of balloons by School Principal, followed by a breathtaking performance of aerobics. The gala event included races like “Flat Race”, “Jumping Race”, “Sack Race”, “Frog Race”, “Obstacle Race”, “Lemon-spoon race”, “Garland Race” and the most enthralling “Hurdle Race”. Displaying the sportmanspirit, more than 430 students participated in the event, enthusiastically. Winners- “having their day” were felicitated with certificates & medals. Overall, the days provided students a well deserved break from their dreary routine and rejuvenated them before the commencement of their Annual Examinations.
